Camp invite legit check

A free educational checklist for players and parents. Paste a camp or recruiting style invite (email, DM, or link). We highlight generic red flag patterns in the text and give questions to ask before you pay. We do not name, rank, approve, or accuse any specific camp, company, coach, or person. Output is an opinion style checklist only. Results may be wrong. Always verify yourself.

Invite red flag checklist

Answer each question about the invite in your hand. Generic patterns only. Your answers stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

Privacy: we collect only the answers you tap for this check (and any text you paste on this page). We process it to return a result, then discard it. We store nothing and need no login.

1. Does the invite name specific college staff you can confirm on that school's official athletics site (full name and school title), not just "college coaches"?

2. Is the camp listed on a college's official athletics or admissions site (school.edu or the school's official domain), not only on a third-party flyer or social post?

3. Does the wording look like a mass "you have been selected" or "limited spots" message aimed at many athletes?

4. Is the sender domain the school's .edu (or the official domain on the athletics site), or something else?

5. Does the pitch push upfront fees mainly for "exposure," "ranking," or a recruiting service, rather than a clear camp fee with a schedule?

6. Does anyone guarantee an offer, scholarship, or roster spot if you pay or attend?

7. Is there pressure to pay today, limited spots that keep dropping, or claims that you will be "passed over" if you wait?

8. Who is asked to cover travel and camp costs?

How to verify

How to verify (user does these lookups; we do not accuse anyone):

  1. Open the school's official athletics site (type the school name yourself; do not trust links in the invite) and confirm the camp or coach.
  2. Ask whether the business is registered with the state where it claims to operate, and look that up on the state's official business search if one exists.
  3. Read the refund policy before you pay. Get it in writing.
  4. Ask for recent parent or player references you can contact yourself.
  5. On your own, search BBB complaints and your state attorney general consumer complaint pages for the business name in the invite. We do not publish complaint counts or rankings.
  6. If it claims to be a college staff invite, call the athletics department using a number from the official .edu site.

AI / product rule: never output a company name, person name, or "this is a scam" accusation about a specific sender. Safe labels: "Fewer red flags in the text you pasted," "Some common red flags," or "Several common red flags." Always add: "This is not a finding about any named organization. Verify yourself."

Education only. Not legal, recruiting, admissions, or financial advice. Not a guarantee about any camp, school, or service. Results may be wrong; verify on official school sites and with the questions above. We do not name, rank, or accuse any specific company or person. Not affiliated with any college, high school, or recruiting service. Pasted invites are processed and discarded, not stored. Operated by Braun Holdings LLC.

Highlight tape checklist

Also included: a free Highlight Tape Checklist with common coaching preferences (best plays first, about 3 to 5 minutes, jersey number and contact on the title card, and a link format many coaches can open). Preferences vary by coach and program. This is general information, not a promise that any coach will watch or offer.

What this page will not do

We will not sell your data, rate or rank camps, name or accuse any company or person, promise that any school will watch your film, or say a paid camp equals recruiting interest. Opinion labels only.
